Do the guides speak English ?
Yes, every tour is with an English speaking tour guide.
How do i book ?
Contact me and tell me which excursions you'd like to do, your preferred dates, the number of participants, and your hotel.
I'll check availability. If there's space, I'll make a pre-reservation and send you the payment information. After payment, you'll receive your booking confirmations with departure times and a brief list of what to bring.
For which age group do the children's rates apply?
The child rate is valid for children up to and including 11 years old.
The adult rate applies to those 12 years and older.
Children under 4 years old only pay for Sian Ka'an and the whale sharks.
Do I need to pay when I book?
Yes, I start by making a pre-reservation but it is only confirmed once payment is received.
At that point, I will send you written confirmations with your departure times..
Are we being picked up at the hotel?
In you're staying in a resort, we will pick you up at the lobby.
For hotels in Tulum and Cancun city center, we have meeting points for convenience.
The same goes for AirBnbs.
How do I pay for the excursions?
You pay online. I'll send you a payment link; you can also pay via Wise or Paypal.
Depending on the bank, payments may take more or less time to arrive, so try not to book at the last minute.
Can excursions be booked in advance?
Yes, no problem. Reservations open several months in advance.
If you're coming during peak season, book well in advance to secure a spot, as excursions sometimes fill up several days ahead.
Can I pay in euros, dollars, or pounds ?
Yes! Prices are listed in US dollars because that's the "norm" here. However, at the time of payment, I'll give you the current exchange rates, and you can pay in the currency of your choice. If you pay via Paypal, you'll receive an invoice in Mexican pesos and your bank will automatically do the conversion.
Are the excursions done in small groups?
Yes, excursions are conducted in small groups and by minibus.
Chichen Itza is visited by bus. However, the tour of the archaeological site is limited to groups of 25 people maximum.
Are all excursions suitable for children?
If you are traveling with young children, people with back or mobility problems, or even elderly people, we will discuss it.
If the excursions you have chosen are not recommended, I will tell you clearly and recommend another more suitable tour.
What if the guide doesn't arrive?
When you book, I'll give you a way to contact me, either WhatsApp or Messenger, depending on your preference. On the day of the excursion, if you see that no one has arrived, send me a message. I'll contact them directly to see what's happening and let you know if they're still far away.
And yes, even if you leave at 5 a.m., I'm awake and I'll reply! ;)
Can I cancel an excursion ?
For cancellations made up to 48 hours in advance: I will refund 90% of the total.
The day before, before noon: 50% refund.
Later: no refund.
If you arrive late at the meeting point and the guide has already left, no refund will be possible.
If I book a boat trip and it is cancelled, will I get a refund?
In case of bad weather, the decision to proceed with the excursions rests with the harbor master's office.
If the harbor master's office decides to close the port and cancel the excursions, your excursion will be rescheduled for another day. If you are at the end of your stay and cannot reschedule, you will receive a full refund.
Why do many excursions have taxes that must be paid in cash?
Mexico loves taxes, and you'll find them on almost everything!
For nature reserves, protected areas, or classified zones, there are additional fees payable to various institutions. These fees are separate from the tour price and must be paid in cash on the day of your visit.
All fees are listed on the website and on your booking confirmations.
Will you be the guide?
I am a certified federal guide, however, I am not currently guiding excursions. I made this choice so I could offer a variety of excursions, and especially excursions that are available almost every day. Guiding them myself would have severely limited the options.
Do you offer any other excursions besides those presented here?
Yes! I don't list them directly on the website because they aren't day trips with transportation, but rather activities for those doing a road trip and visiting the area, for example, Bacalar. If you'd like more information, fill out the form specifying that it's for Bacalar.
